3 Key Steps to Achieving Corporate Compliance

The business section headlines all too often have news of lawsuits claiming some form of non-compliance. If you want to be sure your company name does not get muddied by this kind of publicity, you need an effective corporate compliance training program.

Compliance training programs that work contain the following three elements:
  1. The entire workforce is involved. You want everyone from your leaders to individual contributors to understand what constitutes non-compliance and feel free to point out issues as soon as they occur…before they become problems that can only be handled in a courtroom.

  2. There is a clear process in place.  Managers need to know how to receive reports of non-compliance and then how to responsibly deal with them.

  3. People feel comfortable making a complaint.  Be sure that employees would actually report any problems. You need to know that they feel comfortable voicing concerns and with the way complaints would be handled.

Compliance is not just the responsibility of HR. Compliance should be part of your company culture…modeled by leadership and practiced by all.
